Welcome to Kittitas County Pride!

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Kittitas County, Washington celebrating diversity and striving for inclusivity in our rural community.

Our Story.

Kittitas County Pride (KCP) was formed in 2022 by a group of community-minded individuals who wanted to educate, celebrate and bring more inclusivity county wide. We officially became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization beginning of 2023 and are comprised of 9 board members and various committee members supporting the work we do. We are continuing to grow as we focus on community outreach and education in our second inaugural year.

Our Mission.

The mission of Kittitas County Pride is to educate and promote Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) and LGBTQIA2S+ awareness of diversity, health, culture, and acceptance. Together, KCP and our community allies work to reach a common goal of non-discrimination through education using a number of programs and activities such as diversity education, health initiatives, community mobilization, cultural enhancement, and research.

Our Vision.

Kittitas County Pride envisions a county where all SOGIE and LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, their families, and allies are valued and feel a sense of belonging. Kittitas County Pride strives to build bridges throughout our community, and forge new bonds among young and old, life-long residents and newcomers. We celebrate the strength and diversity of our community, and we foster an increased sense of well-being in the lives we touch.

Educate.

One of the core pillars of KCP is to educate the community on all topics related to SOGIE and LGBTQIA2S+ topics such as health, youth, culture and policy. KCP will strive to host various events throughout each year with the goal of spreading greater awareness and acceptance through education.

Celebrate.

Every year we will kick off June with an annual Pride Parade and invite everyone in the community to participate by marching in the parade or cheering on the parade participants.

Join Us.

We believe that everyone can make a difference. We host monthly public meetings and various community events throughout the year. Join us as a volunteer, ally, community advocate, sponsor or partner!

Pride serves as a way to combat shame and allows all people to feel our interconnectedness. Celebrating LGBTQIA+ lives fundamentally changed the way I once thought of myself and I know it will do the same for others. I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve the Kittitas County community in this way and cannot wait to see you at our June celebration.
— Keelin Winters, KCP Board President, 2023-25 (She/They)

Land Acknowledgement

Kittitas County Pride acknowledges that we reside on the ancestral and sacred lands of the K’ti’tas and Pshwánapam bands of Indigenous people.

The Yakama Nation carries on the traditions of the native inhabitants of Kittitas County and serve as Indigenous stewards of the land that we protect and cherish today. We would also like to offer our support in working together to educate ourselves and our community about the current and historical ties of Indigenous communities to stewardship of Kittitas County and the surrounding areas.
